FACTS about Lambro’s HVAC Components / Ventilation Components
HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. HVAC refers to the systems that use various technologies to regulate and move heated and cooled air throughout residential, commercial buildings, and indoor stadiums.
What are the main components of an HVAC system?
The main components are the furnace, the air conditioner, the evaporator, the condenser, and the ductwork. The furnace is the heart of the system, providing heat to the air that is circulated through the ductwork. The air conditioner cools the air that is circulated through the ductwork. The evaporator and condenser are part of the air conditioner and work together to cool the air.
This type of heating and cooling system in a home or commercial space is a complex network of interconnected components, all of which work together to provide a comfortable indoor environment. The system of ducts and vents to distribute the heated or cooled air to the various spaces is essential.

What common materials are Lambro HVAC components / ventilation accessories made from?
There are a variety of materials that can be used for ventilation accessories, depending on the application. Some common materials include aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, vinyl, plastic, and polypropylene. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages that should be considered when selecting the appropriate material for a particular application. Aluminum is a lightweight material that is resistant to corrosion. It is commonly used in applications where weight is a concern, such as in portable ventilation systems. Plastic components are injection molded.
What are some of the different types of ducts, vents, and louvers?
There are many different types of vents, ducts and louvers, each with their own specific purpose. Vents are openings in a structure that allow air to enter or exit. Man-made vents include exhaust fans, air vents, and other HVAC ventilation systems. Venting / vents are often required for venting bathrooms, kitchens, and clothes dryers.
– Semi-rigid aluminum duct is perfect for applications where building codes require use of all aluminum duct. The duct is totally non-combustible with a maximum operating temperature of 400°F. May have a one end crimped.
– Aluminum duct 3.25” x 10” is the minimum size duct allowed on most range hoods is 3 1/4″ by 10″ which is equivalent to a 6″ round. For use with rigid ductwork
– Insulated duct is highly recommended for clothes dryer venting installations.

What are the installation requirements for vents, ducts and louvers?
There are many installation requirements for vents, ducts and louvers that vary depending on the type of product being installed. Many Lambro products have both spec sheets and installation instructions.
It is better to leave the home HVAC installment and repairs to a professional who can do it safely, correctly, quickly and save the homeowner money. Most part manufacturers don’t sell parts directly to consumers. To ensure reliable and safe installations, manufacturers sell only to certified installers.
Manufacturer’s warranties nearly always require installation by a certified installer. Attempting to use non-standard parts or perform installations yourself can void system warranties. You may end up paying more in the event that something goes wrong.
What are the maintenance requirements for vents, ducts and louvers?
Maintenance requirements will vary depending on the type. However, for the homeowner, there are some general maintenance requirements that are common to all types of Lambro vents, ducts and louvers.
If your home HVAC system is more complex, having a professional do a yearly maintenance inspection will save money in the long run by catching problems early or simply preventing them.
Large / complex HVAC systems in commercial buildings or large residential buildings need professional maintenance. There are many companies that offer customized preventative maintenance plans in which a qualified technician will inspect and evaluate the heating and cooling equipment, make needed adjustments, and identify any failures or essential repairs.
The benefits of preventative maintenance include:
What are the most common problems with vents, ducts and louvers?
What are the consequences of not properly maintaining vents, ducts and louvers?
Blockages in vents, ducts and louvers can restrict the flow of air, causing a build-up of pressure and leading to a range of problems including reduced heating and cooling efficiency, increased energy costs and discomfort for building occupants.
Debris in the duct such as screws, nails, small toys, plastic, construction materials, saw dust, can result in vent-related noises including rattling and or flapping sounds
Can vents, ducts and louvers be retrofitted to an existing building?
Usually. But the cost of rerouting ductwork including materials and labor will be determined usually per linear foot by the contractor. The ductwork type, present and future location of ducts, and difficulty of moving them also impact costs as will having to work in hard-to-reach areas.
How do Lambro vents, ducts and louvers work together to regulate airflow in a building?
Lambro vents, ducts and louvers are all parts of a system that is constructed to regulate air flow in a building whether residential or commercial.
Vents are used to allow air to flow into a building.
Ducts are used to direct the airflow.
Louvers are used to control the amount of air that flows through a duct. All of these components work together to ensure that the airflow in a building is controlled and regulated.
How long do vents, ducts and louvers typically last?
Vents, ducts and louvers can last for many years if they are made of high quality materials and installed properly. However, they will eventually need to be replaced due to wear and tear. The lifespan of vents, ducts and louvers will also be affected by the environment in which they are installed, as well as the amount of use they receive. In most cases it is better to have an experienced professionally replace HVAC components. Attempting to install them yourself can lead to broken components, improper installations, and malfunctioning systems.
How do our ventilation accessories/ HVAC components improve indoor air quality?
All heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems use air filters to remove a wide variety of particles that naturally end up in our indoor air. Ventilation components improve indoor air quality by providing fresh air and by removing contaminants from the air. Contaminants can come from many sources, including people, pets, cleaning products, cooking, and tobacco smoke.
HVAC components do not sanitize and further protect against the airborne germs during seasons where viruses and bacteria are more common.
